Braxton's Nautical Cake Smash Session
Braxton. Where do I even start with Braxton?! Braxton‘s mom booked me before he was even born for newborn photos and after looking at all my different options and my photography style, she decided she was going to book the milestone package. I price my packages at such an awesome discount because it makes my heart so happy to get to see these babies grow from a tiny squishy newborn is all the way to strong independent one year olds. Actually it’s really sad when I get a document and newborn session for somebody and they just disappear and I never get to see what becomes of that teeny tiny baby. So back to Mr. Braxton!
Braxton came into the studio and was all smiles for his traditional photos. Mom brought in balloons, so really, how could he do anything but smile?! From traditional we moved onto his cake smash portion of the session.
Every single milestone session, we’ve done a picture of him sitting inside this adorable blue boat EXCEPT for his one year because he was officially too big for it. To keep with the nautical theme, mom decided she would do his first birthday photos with nautical inspiration! This worked out perfectly because we were able to use the boat as one of the props in his cake smash session. Mom also brought in a real ship’s steering wheel and that adorable “Born on the Bayou” sign. A lot of my family that comes in is military, and a military kid normally doesn’t get to grown up and tell people where they’re from but they can with certainly always tell people where they’re born and all the places they’ve lived. So that sign is so powerful because the bayou may not always be home but it was a significant part of his first year of life and we were able to commentate that.
As I’m sure you can tell by the images, Braxton was definitely digging his cake. All good things must come to an end and that most certainly applies towards cake. We got him cleaned up and put into his bubble bath and he was even happier in there!
Mom brought a bubble maker for ALL THE BUBBLES and we let Braxton play around and wrap up his session in our Bossier City studio with all smiles.
